If Tetris is the greatest puzzle game of all time, then I really don’t know how to describe “Wind and Water Puzzle Battles”. This game was originally created by two guys Yuan-Hsi Chiang and Yuan-Hao Chiang as a collaborative project, then later turned into a huge development for the GP2X console. The release of the game will be devoted entirely for the Sega Dreamcast console, however the PC version is available for free to download. The reason why it was first released on the Sega Dreamcast console partly because due to the system supports true 240p RGB, it gives the overall 2D arcade experience to the game.
From a puzzle game viewpoint, I don’t think it’s too complex that everyone wouldn’t be able to play. The entire game is color coded which makes it simple enough to jump straight into the puzzle. It is somewhat similar to the classic Super Nintendo “Tetris Attack” except with an advance system. I like the fact how the creators treated their game like it was a project they developed for fun and how they are proud to share what they have accomplished. I love puzzle games and I wouldn’t mind giving this a try anytime soon. Check it out!

I knew you would like it. What do you think of the overall gameplay though? I really like the idea of colored elemental blocks (earth, water, wind, fire, wood, and metal) in this puzzle game. It looks great and there are so many different techniques to pull massive chain of combos against your opponent.

Hi, thanks for the article, well, yeah, we kind of wanted to create a “Tetris Attack” puzzle game in the sense that you need quick reflexes, skill, and thinking in order to play the game.
Hope you guys enjoy the game and feedback is welcome
Also, we just released a new version with mouse support, you guys may like it, more info on our blog (link on my name)
Cheers~

Hey Yuan,
Thanks for dropping by. I really like the new mouse support add-on to the game. I still prefer the controlpad method since I can perform quicker. Is there by chance this game will be released for the Mac as well? Thanks for making this free for the PC, but if you can make it possible for the Mac, that would be amazing.

Hi,
Yeah, the control pad is definitely superior, but some gamers may want to start out with the mouse since it is easier and more intuitive to play
Well, we’re actually porting it to Linux first, but we definitely are thinking about porting it to Mac too as soon as we’re done with Linux. We’ll let you know about it so that you can help us beta test it!
Thanks! ^_~
