Holden Outerwear
Posted In Design, MinhWindI am so honored and excited to have the privilege designing for Mike LeBlanc at Holden Outerwear on a few freelance projects. Lately I’ve been tackling some of the banner designs and rack-top displays which will be used eventually throughout all of the shops. I can’t wait to see how the production will turn out; hopefully it will worth all of the efforts I have put in. I am not a snowboarder but as my creative ideas flow within the company’s brand, I think I’m somewhat being exposed to it now. When I first met Mike, I didn’t have a clue who he was until I stumbled across ridesnowboards.com and what do you know…this guy turns out to be one of the best in North America. Continue Reading »
Honda Eco-Awareness
Posted In Animation, Motion GraphicsHonda has recently released a commercial spot called “Do, Keep Doing, Do Some More” which is a short whimsical animation piece that raises the idea of eco-awareness solution. It is about how we could make a difference to the environment according to the choices we make. Some of us may not have a bond with commercials or advertisements since we used to seeing them every single day, but this one will definitely makes you remember the message, story-telling style, and its clever way of branding. I think when it comes down to any Honda’s stuff in general; they’ve always managed to implant an idea into our brain. Thanks to the brilliant creative team at Wieden+Kennedy, they came up with the idea and art direction. The rest of the production work and animation were produced by the team at Not To Scale.
A Day In Portland
Posted In TravelI have to say that it has definitely been quite a while ever since the day of graduation. I haven’t been able to travel back to Portland much these days, yesterday I decided to spend the entire day capturing any new changes around the school with my camera. Just for half a year and all of the new buildings in the area have already near finished. It’s hard to believe at this point that I actually stared at a strange place where I have always been commuting back and forth during school. I probably exaggerated or maybe it was just the feeling of being there again. There were a lot of expensive cars parked around the neighborhood. For some reason, the community in the Pearl District is getting wealthier and more developed everyday. Within the next a few years I don’t think I would be able to recognize this place again because everything changes so rapidly. If you get the chance also check out some my photos on Flickr as well.

Blog Concept Development
Posted In MinhWindI have wanted to build a blog for a long time now. When I first completed my website (www.minhwind.com), I was drained after spending months of conceptualizing, sketching, designing, and coding. When it comes down to coding strictly in HTML & CSS it is like having to learn another language. As I juggle through complicated and tricky syntaxes, not to mention the frustrations of assuring things are functional in Internet Explorer, I can see the results of my hard work. I hope and trust that I will improve and strengthen my web design skills over the years.
